SERVICE PROFILE:

The Charlotte White Center's Counseling Service has been providing licensed clinical outpatient counseling services since 1994. The Counseling Service grew from the recognition by staff and Board members that there was a great need for a clinical outpatient counseling program in the Bangor, Skowhegan, Dover, and Greenville areas. Twelve licensed therapists and a psychiatrist provide counseling for adults, children and families from our offices in Dover-Foxcroft, Greenville, Bangor, and Skowhegan.

The clinics have emerged as vital support links for adults and children in the area who are in need of counseling services. Our clinics have become identified as one of the prime providers in the area. In the last few years our counselors and support staff have done a terrific job in opening the service to more people, carrying out effective "triage,"' based on client level of need, and keeping the waiting list time for services as brief as possible.

Following an on-site inspection we have received authorization with a "highest rating" from Magellan Behavioral Health Services to be enrolled as a provider in their network. This will allow people in the area served by health insurance covered under Magellan plans to seek out our services at economical rates.
