Child and Family Behavioral Health Treatment Services
This program is for children/youth with serious emotional disorders and their families. The service is an intensive family systems therapy treatment. We provide comprehensive, clinical home and community based mental health services. The goal of the service is to:
- keep the child and family intact,
- reduce symptoms
- enhance the child/youth’s successful integration into the community,
- and to improve the family’s quality of life.
The main directive is to transition the child/youth and family to less intensive levels of service or other natural community supports.
Services Provided:
1. Supportive counseling or guidance for the child/youth and family members. To assist the child/youth and family to identify and reduce barriers to enable effective family communication and functioning. These strengths and treatment needs may include problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution.
2. Ensuring continuity and consistency of such activities across school, home and community settings.
3. Community integration and continuity of care.
4. Empower parents/care givers with the skills and resources needed.
5. Collaboration between the consumer, family and team in development of the treatment plan.
6. Support for the consumer and family to identify barriers and develop strategies with the consumer and family if there is a lack of connection or engagement in the plan.
7. Supports designed to reduce symptoms and assisting the family in maintaining a better quality of life and family intactness.

10. Crisis management planning.
11. Monitoring information and referrals.
12. Assistance in obtaining support services.
13. Development of behavior management plans and other skill-building activities.
14. Discharge planning and placement.
Staff Qualifications
CWC’s treatment team includes the professional providers: CWC clinicians, CWC Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP), and case managers as applicable and other appropriate team members.
CWC’s Behavioral Health Professional’s are Bachelor’s and Master’s Level staff with the required BHP training or authorizations.
Eligibility
1. To be eligible for this service, the child/youth must meet all of the following criteria:
²be twenty years of age or younger;
²have a serious emotional disturbance as defined by a preplanned assessment and diagnostic review and evaluation.
2. The child/youth’s presenting behavior can reasonably be expected to respond to CWC’s behavioral health treatment program.
3. The child/youth has transitioned from a higher level of care or has documented evidence of inability to benefit from a lower level of care.
4. The child/youth's condition requires a coordinated, home/community-based program.
5. The child/youth needs treatment that is more intensive and frequent than what he or she would receive in Outpatient Mental Health Services or Infant Mental Health Services.
